BALANCE IN MOTION BODYWORK
Santa Barbara Massage & Pain Therapy
What does a Holistic Health Practitioner do?

The Holistic Health Practitioner ...
-
has completed a 1000-hour combined integrative therapy curriculum.
-
treats injured muscle tissue, tendons and ligaments that have been causing pain, restricted movement, and limited performance.
-
assesses imbalances through motion and gait analysis.
-
corrects imbalances caused by injury, surgery, or unhealthy motion patterns.
-
looks to address causes rather than symptoms.
-
goes beyond the site of the injury and uses the entire body, brain and nervous system to evaluate and correct pain and imbalance.
-
takes into consideration the whole of mind, body and spirit when assessing the client.
-
empowers the client to achieve improved health, both today and for the future, through addressing any imbalances caused by injuries, improper or repetitive motion, lack of exercise, overextending your body, lacking nutrition, or emotional challenges.
-
recognizes that achieving good health requires a healthy lifestyle, respect of your body, proper movement, exercise, and rest.
-
educates clients on how to achieve and sustain good health on a daily basis.
-
recognizes when allopathic health care may be necessary, and is always ready to refer a client to his or her primary care physician for diagnosis and/or treatment.
-
educates clients to evaluate their lifestyle choices, to isolate and change any potential causes of ill health.
The Holistic Health Practitioner does not ...
-
Diagnose disease. A holistic health practitioner performs evaluations to determine causes of potential health problems, but they do not diagnose disease.
-
Treat disease by using artificial aids. A holistic health practitioner focuses on restoring health by working with the body's own innate ability to heal itself, and he empowers clients to take charge of their own good health.
-
Prescribe drugs or pharmaceuticals. Holistic health practitioners may teach clients about using exercise, herbs, essential oils, homeopathic remedies, dietary supplements, and nutrition, but they do not prescribe any medications.
-
Holistic Health Practitioners do not perform any invasive procedures, give injections, or draw blood, or perform surgery.
